Light Speed Busy

This month alone I have worked on over twenty Star Wars related designs.  Not sure if the it’s due to the brand making a retro-revival, or it’s unwavering awesomeness, either way it’s fun and surreal.  Years ago I closeted my passion for the galaxy far far away, and now I can’t preach it loud enough.

Every once in awhile I come across my fonts around town or the net.  Web ad here, tee design there, but I was floored when I found one in my fridge.  My favorite yogurt, Dannon (with fruit on the bottom), is currently advertising a contest on their lids, and using my Amperzand font for the type.

Delicious, and aesthetically pleasing.

Speaking of delicious, just got back from a brief trip to NYC.  I needed a few days to recharge the brain cells, and the country’s fastest city always does the trick. Everything, the sounds of the subway conversations, the exhibits of the MOMA, even the smell of the bagel/coffee shop, everything re-inspires me.  While there, found the Peanut Butter & Co, and chowed on some tasty PB&J.

I really enjoyed both the business model (who doesn’t love PB&J?), and the retro-50’s style of the shop, which is achieved easily using framed vintage peanut butter advertisements and classic bakery setup.

Surprised the Little Bro and took him to the Celtics vs. Heat game last week.  I thought the roof was going to collapse when Ray Allen sank the first 3-pointer of the game. Great back and forth playing, great drama, and an all around great day in Boston.

Just finished a teaser poster for a friend’s political documentary on Congressional debate.  I don’t typically do work for political themes, but after previewing part of the film, I found it’s commitment to being unbiased was strong, and created a design that would reflect that.
